  • Pressure relief

The comfort and transition layers add up to nearly four inches of give under shoulders and hips.

  • Quiet at night

Foam absorbs movement, so a partner turning over stays on their side.

  • Washable cover

The cover unzips and goes in the machine at 86 F.

  1. Cotton-blend knit over a thin quilting foam

A soft knit with a pinch of stretch, quilted so the surface drapes instead of crinkling. It zips off in one pull and the zip is hidden in the edge.

  2. Open-cell polyurethane foam

The layer you feel first. An open-cell structure lets the foam sink around shoulders and hips and spring back quickly, with channels that let air through.

  3. Medium-density foam

A slower foam that sits between soft and firm so the body never feels the hard base. It is also what keeps a partner's movement on their side.

  4. High-density foam

The slab that sets the firmness and the lifespan. It is the same density in every size, glued flat to a non-slip base cloth.

Dusk is the mattress we make when someone asks for “just a good one”. Four layers of foam, no tricks, cut and glued in our workshop and rolled into a box that fits through a normal front door.

The top two layers do the soft work: they let shoulders and hips settle while the lower back stays held. Underneath, a dense core keeps the whole thing from sagging, which is the reason a foam mattress is judged on its core and not on its top.

Choose Medium if you sleep mostly on your side or weigh under about 200 lb. Choose Firm if you sleep on your back or stomach, or if you like feeling on top of a mattress rather than in it.

What people say about it.

My shoulder stopped complaining

Questions about Dusk

Does Dusk sleep warm?

Foam holds more heat than springs or latex. Dusk's open-cell comfort layer helps, but if you often wake hot, look at Meridian or Haven.

Can I put Dusk on a slatted base?

Yes, with slats no more than 3 inches apart. It also works on a box spring or directly on the floor.

Is there a smell when it arrives?

A faint foam smell is normal for the first day or two. Unbox it in a ventilated room and it fades quickly.
