Your first thirty nights on a new mattress

What to expect while your body adjusts, what is normal, and when to pick up the phone.

A calm bedroom at night with a small bedside lamp glowing

A new mattress rarely feels perfect on the first night. Your body has spent years adapting to the old one, and it needs time to adapt to a new shape.

Nights 1 to 7

Everything feels slightly strange. You may sleep lighter than usual, and the mattress might feel softer or firmer than you expected. This is your body noticing difference, not a verdict. Foam may have a faint smell for a day or two; leave the window open.

Nights 8 to 20

Most people settle in. Aches that appeared in the first week usually fade as your muscles adjust to a different position. If you still wake in the same place with pain, take a note of where.

Nights 21 to 30

By now you know. Do you fall asleep quicker? Do you wake up cooler or warmer? Are you moving around less? These are better questions than “do I like it”.

When to call us

If you still sleep badly after thirty nights, call. We would rather talk about the options (a different firmness or a different model) than let you suffer through the trial. The 100 nights are there to be used.

Not sure which mattress suits you?

Six questions, one recommendation, and a hundred nights to check it.
