Rental terms

1. The agreement

These terms apply between Milepost Car Rental Ltd ("we") and the main driver named in the booking. This is sample text for the template.

2. Drivers and documents

The main driver must be at least 21 years old (some classes require 23 or 25), hold a full driving licence for at least one year, and present the licence and the payment card at pick-up.

3. Payment and card hold

The rental is paid at the counter. A card hold of $500, $300 or $150, depending on the protection plan, is placed at pick-up and released after return.

4. Cancellation

Free of charge up to 48 hours before pick-up. Inside 48 hours, or on a no-show, the first rental day is charged.

5. Fuel and charging

Full to full unless prepaid fuel or charge was chosen. Refuelling is charged at the local pump price plus $15; a recharge below 20 percent is $25.

6. Damage, theft and protection

The deductible of the chosen plan applies to covered damage and theft: $1,800 with Basic, $500 with Standard, none with Full cover. Exclusions are listed on the protection page.

7. Tolls, fines and cross-border travel

Tolls and fines are passed on at cost plus a $4 handling fee. International border crossings need written permission.
