About Milepost
We started in 2011 with two second-hand hatchbacks and a desk in a kitchen. We now run four branches, and still answer the phone ourselves.
Why a rental company, why here
The Calder Coast is a place you cannot do well without a car: the train reaches Larkmoor, the ferry reaches Port Aveline, and everything good is in between. Milepost exists so that the step from platform or pier to driver's seat takes ten minutes, not an afternoon.
We are independent, which means we answer to the people who rent from us and the people who work here, and to nobody else. We buy the cars, we clean them, we fix them, and we are the ones standing at the counter on a Friday evening.
Milepost is a fictional company: this page, its people and its numbers are demo content for a website template.

What we hold ourselves to
The price is the price
Fees are listed line by line before you confirm, and the counter never adds anything that was not on your screen.
A walk-round, not a lecture
We note existing marks with you and photograph them. The same record is used when you return the car.
Local, on purpose
We only rent where we have our own branch, so the person who answers the phone knows the car, the road and the weather.

The people
Fictional team, written for this template.
Marta Quill
Managing director
Started Milepost with two second-hand hatchbacks and a desk in her kitchen. Still answers the phone on busy Fridays.
Dov Hallan
Head of fleet
Keeps 140 cars, vans and chargers in good order, and decides what leaves the yard. Never lets a car go out without a walk-round.
Ines Varga
Branch operations
Runs the four counters. She wrote the rule that no customer waits more than ten minutes without a coffee.
Tobias Rene
Business accounts
Looks after local companies, tradespeople and the event trade, and has a spreadsheet for everyone's recurring needs.
