You are reading the docs for Sextant v1.9, which no longer receives updates. This page has a current version: read it in v2.

CallbacksDeprecated

Ask v1 to call a URL when a job finishes with callback_url, and how to secure the endpoint.

Updated Guides Version v1.9

Instead of polling, a job can carry a callback_url. When it finishes, v1 sends a POST with the job id and its final status.

TypeScript
await client.enqueue('build-report', { range: '24h' }, { callbackUrl: 'https://example.com/hooks/report' });
JSON
{ "id": "job_6f0a1b", "status": "done", "finished_at": "2025-12-18T10:02:11Z" }

Callbacks are sent once, with no retry. They are not signed: protect the endpoint with a secret in the URL, for example https://example.com/hooks/report?k=....
