17 to 19 September 2027

The weekend

Five moments over three days. Every time is local, and every event has a calendar file, so you can add it to your phone in one tap.

Friday 17 September

6 pm to 9 pm

Welcome drinks

Cider, long tables and woodfire pizza the night before, so that everyone has met everyone by Saturday.

The Old Mill Inn garden, Ambersley

Dress code: Relaxed. Comfortable shoes, the garden is grass and gravel. Bring a jumper for later.

Clara and Tom would love to see you the evening before the wedding. The Old Mill Inn has given us its garden, a woodfire oven and a barrel of local cider. There is no programme and no speeches: just come when you arrive.

Families with children are very welcome until 8 pm.

Saturday 18 September

2 pm to 3 pm

The ceremony

Vows under a juniper arch on the lawn, with the orangery behind us and (fingers crossed) the sun overhead.

The lawn at Larkfield Barn

Dress code: Garden formal. Light fabrics, soft colours. Please avoid stiletto heels on the lawn, and white or ivory is taken.

Please be seated by 1:45 pm. The ceremony is outdoors and lasts about forty minutes; if it rains we move into the orangery, which is just as lovely and, we are told, quite a lot drier.

Afterwards there is lemonade, prosecco and a long garden hour for photographs and lawn games.

White wooden chairs on both sides of a grass aisle leading to a floral arch of juniper and blush roses.

5:30 pm to 9 pm

Wedding dinner

One long table under the beams, candles, three courses from a local kitchen, and a few short speeches.

The Barn, Larkfield

Dress code: Garden formal

Dinner is served at 5:30 pm in the barn. Please choose your main course on the RSVP form; vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and nut-free are all covered, just tell us.

Speeches are kept to twenty minutes in total. We promise.

A long wooden banquet table with tall candles, linen runners and sprigs of juniper under stone barn beams.

9 pm to 1 am

Evening party

First dance, a band, a late-night toastie bar and string lights in the old oaks. Shuttles run until 1 am.

The Orangery and the lawn

Dress code: Garden formal, dance shoes encouraged

The band starts at 9 pm. Evening guests are welcome from 8:30 pm; there is a late-night toastie bar from 11 pm and the last shuttle leaves at 1 am.

Festoon lights strung between old trees beside a stone barn at night.

Sunday 19 September

10:30 am to 12:30 pm

Sunday brunch

Eggs, pastries, strong coffee and a slow goodbye before everyone heads home.

The Rectory garden, Ambersley

Dress code: Relaxed

A slow morning in the Rectory garden for family and friends staying locally. Come in whatever you slept in (within reason). Most people leave around noon.
